Tech Fund Debate

In our culture today, one of the importance's of marriage is to have kids. Having kids does not mean just give birth to a child. It has to do with being able to take good care of the child. Know what is of the best interest of the child. As a parent, you know what morals you want your kid to grow up with. You know what things you will allow your child to do, and you also know what to give to the kid. Maybe the kid wanted something that you don’t want him to have. You try all you could to talk the kid out of it, or you do anything you can to stop the kid from getting the thing. Like other kids, your child might want a video game or maybe he/she has the video game, but he/she spend a lot of time in it. Maybe you have heard or read a lot of bad things about video game, and you wanted to stop your child from playing video games. Maybe you are like my mom who will just destroy the game. Despite all the bad names that have been given to video games, video games broadly affect the health, education and general welfare of kids in a positive way.(INTRODUCTION). Many think that playing games is just for fun and has no real affect on you. Scientists have recently found out that video games are even better than drugs for depression. It was also shown that it greatly helped with anxiety. Video games also helped with young peoples ability to overcome. The study showed that overcoming physical, emotional, and social challenges became easier for those who had played video games. Games also bring out the “ten positive emotions”, like joy, love, and curiosity. Gaming is one of the only things that actually bring out all ten of the emotions. Video games can help you develop vital life skills. In one study, scientists had gamers go up against supercomputers to make a virtual cure for Alzheimer’s. These gamers knew nothing about biochemistry, but they were still able to beat the supercomputers in more that half of the games. This shows that their logical thinking and problem solving skills were increased, as well as observational and strategic skills. Gamers also had a 30% increase in another vital skill: creativity. These games are allowing people's minds to run free with all sorts of ideas. In some games you can make your own towns or worlds. This is really a revolutionary find in the world of gaming. Many people will ask, what about children? How does it affect them? Games have been known to be an outlet of fun for children. This lets children escape from the stress of everyday life and just have fun. Gaming also increases confidence in children. They will start getting better and better at these games which will give them a sense of accomplishment. Children can also use games to learn math and develop their visual ability. Another positive aspect of gaming in children is familiarity with technology. Technologies, such as computers, are in everyday use in our society. If you don’t know how to use one you aren’t going to be successful. Video games are making kids more familiar with this. When they need to start using computers they will know how. This skill will be important for their future. One reason that I believe video games are good for you is that it helps with your focus. Studies have proven that if someone suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), then playing video games can help to train their brain to be able to focus and process visual information quicker. Then they will be able to focus better in school and other important things. Video games can also help to improve your vision. You can become up to 58 percent better at perceiving fine contrast differences. If it is foggy out, it can determine whether you see a car or not. It can also help you be able to distinguish different colors. It will be easier for you to distinguish between blues and purples and oranges and reds. Among the many importance's of video game is the fact that video games promote the basic math skills in kids. Playing video games help children learn to interact with the score counters on videogames. By keeping the scores in videogames, kids were able to maintain good counting skills which will improve their mathematical skills. Videogames also help kids to be able to analyze mathematical situations. As we have seen, video games can be very beneficial to kids. They can affect the health of kids, help their education, and make their general welfare good. Everyone always says that video games are bad for kids but they don’t really see the good behind them. So when you decide to have a child, maybe video games can be a good way to educate your child. It can be a cheap way to do it, but it will also give them common sense. So don’t’ debate on whether you should allow the children of America to play video games, it’s obvious. Choose to let your kids play video games. (Conclusion) Bibliography (Griffiths, Mark. 1. I agree that there may be some benefits of video games, but it doesn't give you the permission to spend countless hours playing something that is violent. It can draw you away from doing your homework which will have a negative toll on your schooling. Some of this I agree with but I don't think that playing video games is all that healthy for you.

  2. I agree with most of the things that you said, because yes, most of the things that you said about how it increases focus and other things are true. It was said that it brings out all 10 emotions, but that can be a good or a bad thing. If it is bringing out emotions that are not good and they do not know how to control that emotion then bad things can happen. It can be a good thing if they learn to control their emotions. This was a great view point.

  3. I thought this blog was very good overall but there was some downsides, such as some grammatical errors, but nothing serious, and some of the paragraphs seemed a little choppy. Overall this debate was good and got to the point.

  4. I very much agree to this blog especially the part when you guys said that videogames are good for depression. That is true, becuase when I have a debbie downer day I play some videogames and I am super happy. Plus I also socialize with my friends and we chill. I also agree with the statement where you guys said that playing videogames gives you better focus. That is very true considering you have to aim and look closely for things while playing. It also helps with your eye-hand coordination.

  5. I agree with most everything you said, but I was surprised that you failed to touch upon the topic of violence. It is one of the most talked about topics relating to this subject and you didn't mention it in any way. However, I really did like how your introduction was worded. It first led me to believe that you were on the other side of the argument, but now I know that you aren't.

  6. There are some good points in this paper and it makes me realize that all video games aren’t bad. They made a good point that a lot of people only see the negative effects of video games and don’t stop to think that maybe video games can be beneficial to children. This information somewhat changes my views on video games.

  7. I like some of the things in this article. I like that it might help your creativity and learning, but you think that it will help your health. That is ridiculous. sitting on the couch, playing video games will keep you from being active. You can't really think that you will be healthier by doing that sort of stuff. Some of the things in here I agree with, but not all of it.

  8. I agree with some of this, and disagree with the rest. educational video games does help people with different things, but it all depends on the game you play. If you play violent games, your head might be messed up. you can't play any video game and get good counting skills. it doesn't just happen. it all depends..

  9. I liked your post but I do disagree with some of your points. Video games cause so many problems like in school. If you're playing countless hours, then what is happening to school and family? Your grades go down and you become isolated. Yes, we want a good life for our kids, but letting them play video games is not the answer.

  11. I like lots of things in this debate and i agree with most of the paper. I like how you stated that video games make people happier and more relaxed because it is true. People who think video games are bad do not know how much they help peoples mental health.

  12. I can see where this is going in helping kids develop skills by playing video games, but I have to disagree in having it become a good way to educate them. It is a good way to relieve stress and bring out certain emotions. Other then that I think this is a very good debate paper...great job.
